D.J. Baptiste '15 drawing national hoop attention
Even though he missed the majority of the spring AAU basketball season due to an injury, Wilbraham & Monson Academy's D.J. Baptiste '15 is drawing some national exposure.
In a ranking published by NBE Basketball Report July 9, D.J. was listed No. 15 among the top players in the country in the class of 2015. He's been playing for the New England Playaz.
Following an Elite 75 Tournament at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in late June, NBE Basketball's Brian Bosworth wrote he expects “a breakout month for Baptiste as his interior presence could help advance the NE Playaz deep into some major national tournaments and he will definitely make an impact also this coming season with Wilbraham & Monson.”
D.J., a 6-foot-10 center from Haiti, suffered a knee injury early in the spring and missed the remainder of the volleyball season following a basketball season where he made great strides for the Titans.
