Day Five: Live from the Sportsdesk!

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Reporting from sunny Florida is Coach Kelly and Coach Kindblom with ESPN Sports Center.

The WMA Titans took on the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs from California for two games at 9 and 11.  The Mustangs came out strong against a flat Titan squad in Game one.  Some solid hits by the Mustangs and costly errors by the Titans resulted in a lopsided 11 - 0 win for the Mustangs.

The Titans woke up to play better softball in game 2.  The Mustangs jumped out to 5 - 0 lead after two innings, but the Titans bounced back for 4 runs in the top of the fourth inning.  Hannah Clewes reached first base on an error.  Emma Kindblom drove Hannah home on a line drive triple to the wall in left- center.  Then Alyssa Natario drove in Emma with a single.  Kelsey Gomes advanced Alyssa to third on a fielders choice and error by the Mustangs.  Ariana Cassel hit a double to left to score Alyssa.  Ariana advanced to third when Bailey Giese hit into a fielders choice.  Ariana scored the fourth and final run of the inning sliding home on Sophie Albano-Alisberg's bunt.  The Titans comeback stopped there as the Mustangs were able to produce a few more runs to make the final score 8-4.  It was great to see a very young Titan squad come back against an older more experienced Mustang team.

We will be going to Magic Kingdom tonight, then packing up to head home tomorrow.  It has been a great start to the season being in Florida.

Full Day Four: scrimmage, pizza, and Hollywood

Monday, March 12, 2012

The great weather is back!

Today we practiced for three hours in the morning, then had our first scrimmage against Ethel Walker. The girls played hard, but EW hit them where we weren't. The final score was 11-1.

For dinner we had pizza with the baseball team, courtesy Steve and Renee Marcus. And then we were off to Hollywood Studios.

Tomorrow we have a double header against a school from California.

Enjoy some photos from today:

Day Three: Rain Delay

Sunday, March 11, 2012

We were able to get a batting practice in this morning, but the rain began and did not stop all day. Our scrimmage with the Hun Red Raiders was canceled. We decided to use our Park Hopper pass and were off to Epcot Center. Tomorrow we will try again as the forecast looks better for our scrimmage against Ethel Walker.

Stay tuned!
