Head of School Rodney LaBrecque is proud to announce that 22 students at Wilbraham & Monson Academy, the Global School®, have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition by the College Board of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. About 18 percent of the 1.7 million students who took AP Exams worldwide performed at a sufficiently high level to earn an AP Scholar Award.
The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students' performance on AP exams.
The National AP Scholar, the highest level of recognition, is awarded to students earning an average grade of 4 or higher on all AP Exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. Yun-Seong Nam took 12 AP Exams, earning three 3's, one 4, and eight 5's.
Five Wilbraham & Monson Academy students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are Patrick Agahigian of Wilbraham, Sarah Lyon of Monson, Yun-Seong Nam of Andong, Korea, Xi Wu, and Xi-Xun Wu, both of Shanghai, China.
Five students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are Adam Ginsberg of Arlington, Virginia, Minsang Kim of Seoul, Korea, Di Mou of Shanghai, China, Max Ulrich of Aachen, Germany, and Mi Zhang of Beijing, China.
Twelve students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing 3 or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. These students are Colin Akerly of Springfield, Adam Chace of Wilbraham, Caitlin Charette of Chicopee, Joshua Cuddy of Warren, Russell Dinkins of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Adrianne Hanson of Wilbraham, Chang Li of Hangzhou, China, Kimberly Marker of Springfield, Congyi Qian of Hangzhou, China, Kayla Peloquin of Wilbraham, and Alexander Petcu and Michaela Rollings, both of Longmeadow.
