On April 22, 2009, The Aparna Sindhoor Dance Theatre
will be performing for students during School Meeting as part of WMA’s
yearlong study of Indian culture. The nationally recognized company,
founded by dancer Aprarna Sindhoor, performs both contemporary and
classical Indian dance. More information about the company can be found
on their
Web
site.
Each year, The Robert W. McCallum
’46 Visiting Lectureship Fund brings speakers to WMA that focus on
artistic, cultural, or spiritual issues. In June 2002, an endowed fund
was established in memory of devoted Trustee Robert Warren McCallum
’46W through the generosity of Charles A. McCallum ’43W, his brother,
and Trustee Lenita McCallum Witherspoon, Robert’s widow. The income
from the fund is used to enrich the spiritual life of students at the
Academy through either a visiting lecturer or a scholar in residence.
