Careers Speaker Series inspires students
Posted 05/03/2010 01:07PM

Established in 2009, the series presents Academy students the opportunity to learn about different careers and to connect with experts in various fields. They also learn that career paths do not follow straight lines and that multiple careers are the norm in today’s world of work.

In 2010, a team of students from the Marketing class in the Center for Entrepreneurial & Global Studies has been working in collaboration with the College Counseling Office to produce the Career Speaker Series. The class invited several prominent professionals to share the story of their career journey to inspire and advise the WMA student body.

All presentations are in the WMA Athletic Center Board Room on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. and include light refreshments.

2010 Speakers

April 8 - Steven Marcus, president and CEO of New England Geriatrics

April 28 - Curt Hamakawa, Assistant Professor of Sport Management & Director of the Center for International Sport Business at Western New England College

May 13 - Dr. Ron Welburn, Professor of English at the University of Massachusetts, poet, and expert on native American cultures
