Kelsey Gomes '13 helps team win summer softball title
Wilbraham & Monson Academy's Kelsey Gomes '13 helped her summer softball team win a regular season title, with the Springfield Hurricanes going 12-3 to claim the NEYSA Metro Division III championship.
Kelsey competed in every game for the Hurricanes, playing predominantly in right field. She typically batted second in the lineup.
“The season went really well. We only lost against one team: Easthampton,” said Kelsey, who played shortstop and center field for WMA in the spring. “The chemistry on the team made me enjoy softball more than I already do. We had girls from eight different schools, and six are in college, too. It was good chemistry you wouldn't expect to have from different girls. It was a good season because we all got along.”
Kelsey plans to play soccer in college, and possibly softball as well.
