Chris Sparks '95 coaching at elite NBA summer camp
The reputation of Wilbraham & Monson Academy's Boys' Basketball coach has caught up to him.
Coach Chris Sparks '95 will be one of just 10 coaches who will work at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp at the University of Virginia June 13-16.
The camp draws the best high school and prep basketball players in the country, as well as current and former NBA players who are interested in becoming coaches.
“This is really a good opportunity. I feel blessed to have it,” said Coach Sparks, who will work one-on-one with an NBA player. “It's a great opportunity for the school because it gets the name out there with a lot of different folks. It's obviously an exclusive event. It's probably the best camp out there in terms of the desirable camp kids want to go to.”
Coach Sparks will mentor former NBA players Terry Dehere and Anthony Avent. The camp is run by former NBA players Tim McCormick and John Lucas.
