Molly Moran '13 to play in two elite summer soccer tournaments
Molly Moran's '13 busy summer is about to get busier.
Molly's U17 Connecticut FC soccer team has qualified for a pair of top-notch tournaments, where she will play against some of the best players from throughout the country.
Molly's team won the Connecticut State Cup to advance to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region I Championships, which are slated for June 29-July 3 in Lancaster, Pa.
Prior to the regional tournament, though, Molly and her group will play at the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), which draws the best of the best club teams from the United States. The event is set for June 27-30 in Waukegan, Ill., which is outside of Chicago.
At the Connecticut State Cup, during her team's six games, Molly often marked the opposing team's best player.
“I'm really looking forward to playing at Regionals in Pennsylvania and Nationals in Chicago at the end of this month,” said Molly, a center midfielder. “I think it's a great opportunity to both be seen by coaches as well as have fun and hopefully bring back a title for my team. I look forward to continuing my success at Wilbraham & Monson Academy this upcoming fall as a rising senior ready to win a championship of our own.”
