5 land honors for Girls Soccer

Five Wilbraham & Monson Academy Girls Soccer players earned awards following their performance during the 2025 season.

Here is the list of award winners, the honor they won, and a quote from Coach Sommer Mahoney ’11:

Katie Hutcheson ’26, New England Prep School Athletic Council and NEPSAC All-State: “Katie earned these awards with her tenacity, control and vision. She has proven herself one of the best soccer players in our state in Massachusetts due to her ability to dictate the pace of the game with her prowess in the midfield. She is a well-deserving recipient of these honors.”

Ani Hodge ’27, NEPSAC Junior All-Star: “Ani absolutely dominated in our third of the field this year as a center back. She took on the league's toughest and smartest strikers, and frequently frustrated them with her speed, precision and tenacity. Ani was an anchor in the back, and we are sure she will continue to do the same in her senior year.”

Adri Chechile ’26, Boston Globe All-Scholastic: “Adri earned this award for her second year in a row with her equally impressive efforts on the pitch and in the classroom. As a player who stands out for her ability to read the field and a student who stands out for an impressive course of study, Adri was an easy choice for this prestigious award.”

Vivanna Poirier ’29, Women’s Western New England Prep School Soccer Association All-Star: “Despite her young age, Viv plays like a much more seasoned goalkeeper. She has the athleticism and mindset needed to be an excellent goalkeeper - and anyone who saw us play this year knows that ‘excellent’ is the perfect word to describe Viv's work inside the 18.”

Sabina Zwyrbla ’29, WWNEPSSA All-Star: “Sabina played every position on the pitch this season, and no matter where she landed on the field, she contributed with her speed, ball control, tenacity and soccer IQ. Despite her young age, Sabina has proven herself to be an essential component of our starting lineup.”
