Adri Chechile '26 commits to Tufts

There are still big things to come this spring track season for Wilbraham & Monson Academy’s Adrianna Chechile ’26.

Whenever and however this season concludes, Adri already has more big things for track on her horizon.

Adri committed to attend and run track at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, during a celebration in the WMA Athletic Center on Friday night.

“This day has been amazing,” Adri said. “I love seeing the faces here to support me. The whole thing was great.”

Adri had visited the Tufts campus a few times prior to meeting the school’s track coaching staff. Once that occurred, becoming a Jumbo became her priority.

“The school is amazing, and I love the environment there,” Adri explained. “Once I met the track team, everything changed for for me. The coaches were so warm and friendly. It was an awesome environment to be in. And once I got to talk to some of the girls on the team, I knew I found a home and I would fit in.”

In her speech, Adri thanked her expansive support team, particularly her coaches and teachers.

“Academically, without WMA I could not have done it,” Adri said. “I needed the grades and the support to get in. I was pushed for four years to get to this point in my classes. And athletically, freshmen year I was nowhere near where I needed to be, and I grew each year with the team.”
