Girls Volleyball on the rise

The sports phrase “wait ‘til next year” certainly applies to the Wilbraham & Monson Academy Girls Volleyball program.

With just one senior, the Titans posted their best record in years, finishing 8-8 and eligible for the postseason.

“The team has improved their overall record in each of the past three seasons,” explained Coach John DeVine. “Coupling that with a very strong performance by our JV team, the future is extremely bright for the Titans in 2025.”

The 2024 season was incredibly bright for two Titans. Middle hitter Caterina Ravosa ’26 earned a spot on the All-New England Prep School Athletic Council team, while outside hitter Selah Prignano was named to the Honorable Mention list.

Quotes from Coach DeVine

Regarding Caterina: “Caterina had an outstanding season for the Girls Volleyball team earning her a spot on First Team, All-NEPSAC Class C. Cat led the team in kills and blocks, and totally controlled the middle of the net the entire season. One of the most dominating players in NEPSAC, Cat has transitioned from basketball star to a very top-level high school volleyball player in just three short years. Her amazing attitude and coachability makes her a pleasure to have as a leader on our team. Together with sister Gabby, the Ravosa sisters will be a force to reckon with in 2025.”

Regarding Selah: “Selah was one of the most powerful volleyball players in any class in the NEPSAC region. Selah continues to impress everyone with her amazing spikes and consistent all-around play. This outstanding effort earned her a spot on the All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention team in 2024. In a tough 3-2 loss to a very talented Suffield team, Selah was unstoppable in the second and third set, leading the team with 10 kills. Her solid play on both sides of the net helped the Titans to their best overall record in many years. There is no doubt that Selah will be a dominant force in NEPSAC next season.”
