Water Polo

Program Overview

The Water Polo program at Wilbraham & Monson Academy was established in the fall of 1985 and elevated to Varsity status the next year.

The Varsity Water Polo team offers a rewarding athletic experience to all levels of ability, from first-year beginners to the more experienced players. We are also a truly global team, with domestic players competing alongside teammates from China, Thailand, Japan, Venezuela, Germany, Croatia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Many team members have gone on to play in college at institutions that include Trinity College, Cornell University, Slippery Rock University and the University of Southern California. WMA plays a diverse schedule of games that affords all team members the opportunity to compete and develop their individual skills. The schedule is comprised of both home and away contests, including a multi-school tournament near the end of the season.

The philosophy for the Water Polo team endeavors to provide experiences that will allow all students to achieve their maximum personal potential through the incorporation of the ideals of cooperation, sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork.
