Mountain Biking

Program Overview
WMA Mountain Biking (WMA MTB) has been in existence for years, and is now the Academy’s newest varsity sport. While our program is inclusive to any who wish to participate, as a team we maintain high standards for athleticism, integrity, community outreach and natural stewardship. Like the varsity badge it carries, MTB is a competitive race program focused on growth and achievement for the individual and the team.
WMA MTB officially rides in the Housatonic Mountain Bike League, featuring teams from throughout the Berkshires and into New York. Each race event is split into four leveled categories so each rider is on a course suited to their riding skill, strength and endurance. What differentiates the high-acheiving Catagory 1 racer from the rest is a balance of resilience, fitness, technique and the desire to tackle a challenge – a combination we work to impart to all riders in the MTB program, regardless of category or experience, so that all may prepare for the highest levels of competition.
