The Fall 2024 issue, with its "Science Matters" theme, pays homage to Charlie D’Avanzo and his long tenure at WMA. To complement his feature, we are sharing individual stories of alumni in the science field. This issue also covers the various events on and off campus over the last few months, Titan travel to Costa Rica, Nepal and England, faculty Hubbard Travel Grants and other human interest stories about current students and alumni.

I have the bittersweet job of announcing that Mr. Charles “Charlie” D’Avanzo will retire at the end of this academic year. After 35 years at the Academy, he and his wife, Julie, are setting out on the next part of their journey: moving to California to be full-time grandparents.
