The publications landing page includes a hero slideshow at the top and a grid of images below. These fields are created from the posts added to each issue.
To update the slideshow
The purpose of the slideshow is to highlight top stories from the selected issue of the publication. Tags are used to specify which articles are displayed in this space. We recommend using a tag such as, Top Story, for each post that is displayed in this space.
For each post, the thumbnail image, title and read more link are displayed. When either the title or read more link are selected, the post will open the post in the Posts Detail page for your publication. This is a child of this publications page and is hidden from navigation.
To get started, create a post and include the Top Story (or similar) tag
- Go to the posts module and select the folder for your publication
- Select the desired board
- Add a post and include the tag
- Save
Next, set the element on the publications page so that it's filtered on the proper boards and tags
- Go to the Publications 2 page
- Click the Settings for the Resource element at the top of the page
- Click +Content Filters
- Select all the boards included in the publications folder
- Click Specific Tags and then choose Top Stories
- Save
Update the grid of articles
The article grid displays articles from the selected issue. When the title is clicked, the full article is set to open on the hidden posts page. From the
- Go to the Publications 2 page and scroll to the bottom until the article grid come into view.
- Select the gear for this post element
- Click +Filter
- Selected all the boards associated with your publication
- Save
