3 land on All-NEPSAC Team for Boys' Basketball

With success comes rewards, and there were plenty of both for this season’s Wilbraham & Monson Academy Boys’ Basketball team.

Soon after winning its first New England title since 1986, three Titans were named to the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class AA All-League team.

John Adams ’20, who made the honorable mention team the previous two seasons, earned a spot on the selective First Team with teammate Kyle Filipowski ’22, while Keller Boothby ’20 was named to the honorable mention list.

Coach Mike Mannix on three players receiving postseason honors: “To have three players be named all-league is a testament to the basketball the team played this year and, for these three players, an incredible honor.”

John on how the team performed this season: “I could not be more proud of how we evolved this season as a team. Every game we began trusting and playing together, and by the end of the season we became a very dangerous team playing our best basketball of the season and my four years here. Each guy bought into the system, and it ultimately allowed us to win the championship and achieve individual goals as well.”

Kyle on being named to the NEPSAC First Team: “I am extremely proud and honored to be chosen for the All-NEPSAC Team as a sophomore, but definitely could not have accomplished this if my coaches and teammates didn't support me and push me to become better every day. I thank them for how close of a relationship we all have, which gave me the strength and confidence to receive this acknowledgment.”

Keller on receiving postseason honors: “I was thrilled to find out that I had been named to the All-NEPSAC Team this season. Coming in as a postgrad from Texas, nobody in New England really knew who I was, and to be recognized as one of the top players in one of the toughest prep school leagues in the Northeast by the end of the season is truly an honor and is evidence that all my hard work before and during the season paid off.”
