Enrique Rosado '22 Named Top Defensive Lineman
Enrique Rosado’s ’22 football stock just skyrocketed.
After a strong first season on the gridiron with Wilbraham & Monson Academy, Enrique was named the top defensive lineman at the Excel Sports Academy Showcase in Westfield, Massachusetts, in December.
Enrique, a 6-foot-2-inch, 216-pound defensive end, won the award less than a month after being named to the Evergreen Conference Honorable Mention list.
Enrique on how he performed at the showcase: “I performed pretty well. The competition was pretty stiff so I just tried to compete as best as I could. The coaching (by Excel) made me go to the maximum I could give on every play. It was great and a lot of fun.”
Enrique on being named the top defensive lineman: “I didn’t think I’d win MVP because there were a lot of good defensive linemen there, but I tried to give it my all and tried to get my name out there to college coaches.”
Coach Vartabedian regarding Enrique: “Enrique was an impact lineman on the offensive and defensive side of the ball for us this year as a sophomore. He is tough, hard working, coachable and versatile player who has a bright future. I was really excited to hear how well he did at the showcase, and look forward to seeing him develop throughout his high school career.”
