A new tradition

This year WMA is starting a new tradition regarding the Senior/Junior Prom. The Prom will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 on campus, in the totally transformed Lak Dining Hall. In recent memory the Prom has not been on campus, and with the 250th Anniversary of Wilbraham Gala being held there the night before, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to try something new. The students will have the ability to use the decor from the Gala, which will be extraordinary, and create their own vision of Prom, something that we are unable to do when we travel to a destination. Prom on campus will also cut the cost of the tickets for all students and save the school a lot of money, as we no longer have to bus them to and from the location.

Day students can arrive either in their own vehicles or by limo. They must leave campus at the conclusion of the dance. The Academy expects that once day students leave, their parents will be responsible for their whereabouts and wellbeing. Remember that all school rules apply. Boarding students will be required to remain on campus and sleep in their own rooms. These new guidelines will enable Prom to be at a more reasonable hour.

There will be door prizes at the Prom, and we would be grateful for any assistance parents can provide in this area. In the past everything from gift cards to computers and televisions have been donated, and students heading off to college are very appreciative of these items.
