Our Mission

The Afternoon Program provides inclusive opportunities for WMA students to foster creativity, collaboration, community engagement and personal growth, allowing them to strengthen their passions and interests through diverse offerings. Through these experiences, WMA Titans develop the life skills, attitudes and habits necessary to “Live Clean. Speak True. Work Hard. Play Fair."

Student Participation and Offerings

All Upper School students must participate in an Afternoon Program activity during each of the three seasons. Participation in our Afternoon Program is subject to tryouts, auditions, seniority and/or space limitations.
Please email Director of Athletics & Afternoon Program Don Nicholson '79 at dnicholson@wma.us for more information.

Afternoon Program Concentration

An Afternoon Program Concentration provides an opportunity for a student with a demonstrated commitment and expertise in a certain extracurricular area to focus on that area for an additional amount of time within a given school year. This is considered an exception to our normal Afternoon Program requirements.

For all first-time requests, students should email the Assistant Athletic Director for the application. Applications for Fall season concentrations are due Aug. 1. Applications for Winter are due Nov. 1, and applications for Spring are due Feb. 1. Applicants will have their proposals evaluated by the Afternoon Program Concentration Committee. The Committee will determine whether the student earns a concentration or not. A student must be in good academic and conduct standing to earn and retain their concentration.
